Volunteer Opportunities From: United Way Weld County

Diaper packages are needed to ensure that our tiniest neighbors are happy, healthy and thriving.

SUPPLIES: Diapers, clear plastic bags, diaper package label stickers (provided by UWWC - contact Nicole nicole@unitedway-weld.org)

*Diaper packages consist of 24 diapers neatly packaged in a plastic bag, with a "diaper size label". Smaller diaper sizes (newborn, 1, and 2) needed most.

COST: Approx. $6/KIT (MINIMUM 20 KITS) *This is strictly a guideline for businesses that have the ability to purchase items needed to make this service to go project.

Feminine hygiene kits are filled with feminine hygiene products that are essential to good health and hygiene for our neighbors who are working to meet their basic needs in Northern Colorado.

SUPPLIES: Clear baggies. Each kit needs to contain 25 items. Kits can contain 5 liners, but the remaining 20 need to all be tampons or all pads.

COST: $5/KIT (MINIMUM OF 30 KITS) *This is strictly a guideline for businesses that have the ability to purchase items needed to make this service to go project.

Completed feminine hygiene kits can be dropped off at the UWWC office, located at 814 9th St. Greeley, CO 80631 Mon-Fri between 9am-4pm.

Create handmade cards for people experiencing homelessness, parents, kids, families, and aging adults in Weld County! Once cards are done, they can be donated to the United Way main office at 814 9th Street in Greeley.

What You'll Need:

Construction paper - use fun colors!Markers, colored pencils, crayons - time to get creative!Stick to seasonal themes rather than holiday-related ones!

Warm Essentials kits are filled with basic necessities that are essential to keeping our neighbors in Weld County warm during cold weather. These are best kept in drawstring bags (which can be company-branded or blank).

SUPPLIES: blanket, pair of gloves, winter hat, wool socks, pair of hand warmers, scarf. Not all items are required, but they are appreciated. 

COST: $25-30/KIT  *This is strictly a guideline for businesses that have the ability to purchase items needed to make this service-to-go project.

Reading literacy kits bring books to life and deepens the reading experience for children. Each kit is filled with a grade-level appropriate book and reading activity to make story time more interactive and fun! 

SUPPLIES: Reusable bag, book, complimentary activity kit and craft, craft supplies, crayons, scissors, pencils

Flashcards and bookmarks are needed to provide parents and caregivers with resources to support early childhood education.The flashcards can include the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, sight words, pictures, dominoes/dots, spanish and english are a plus!

Blessings Bottles are filled with basic necessities that are essential to good health and hygiene for our neighbors who are working to secure stable housing in Northern Colorado.

SUPPLIES: Large Waterbottle, 1 pair of socks, toothpaste, toothbrush, wet wipes, granola bar, beef stick, deodorant, $5 fast food card (these are ideas, not all items are required)

COST: $15/KIT (Minimum 20 kits) *This is strictly a guideline for businesses that have the ability to purchase items needed to make this service to go project.

Completed Blessing Bottles can be dropped off at the UWWC office, located at 814 9th St. Greeley, CO 80631 Mon-Fri between 9am-4pm.

Mental exercises and activities play a critical role in strengthening and maintaining overall brain functions for older adults. Simple brain exercises and cognitive activities for mental health are just as important to older adults as physical health.

SUPPLIES: Canvas bag, adult coloring book, colored pencils, memory game (jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, crossword, word search, logic puzzles, deck of cards, etc...)
