Who We Are

The Assistance League® of Greeley is an IRS 501( c )( 3 ) non-profit. It is an all-volunteer organization. The local chapter has been in existence since 1973 and is a chapter of the National Assistance League, based in Burbank, California. Our local chapter supports six (6) philanthropic programs benefiting the citizens of Greeley and Weld County. The programs include: 1. Assault Survivor Kits, also known as Crime Victim Assistance: Clothes are provided for men, women and children victims of assault who are treated at local medical centers serving the Weld community. 2. Operation School Bell: This program provides uniforms for seven Title I schools in School District 6. Uniforms are given to the students at the start of each school year and to new students who come to the district later in the school year. 3. Single Parent Scholarships: We award scholarships to single parents who seek to break the cycle of poverty and be positive role models for their children. Recipients attend the University of Northern Colorado or Aims Community College. 4. Warm Up Weld: We contribute blankets and bedding to seniors, schools and shelters, providing hope and warmth in the cold of winter. 5. File of Life: The distribution of medical forms that, when completed and updated, provide vital medical information to emergency responders. These free Files are widely distributed to the community and are available at the Bargain Box Thrift Store. 6. Color Me Weld program, also known as Child Diversion Program: This project provides coloring books and crayons as distraction to children who are victims of assault or abuse and are available to all children who have been hospitalized or are being treated in area hospitals. The Assistance League is comprised of volunteer members who focus on fund raising to support our programs by operating the Bargain Box Thrift Store.
