Volunteers Enriching Weld

Who We Are

Volunteers Enriching Weld is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action through philanthropic programs in the Greeley and Weld County community.

What We Do

Our history starts way back after WWI. A group of women in California saw a need for families impacted by the war. They got together and started the first Assistance League providing food and clothing to families in need. We here in Greeley began our philanthropic journey with an Assistance League Guild in 1970 followed by the Assistance League of Greeley in 1973. After over fifty years as a chapter of the National Assistance League we decided to strike out on our own as, ”Volunteers Enriching Weld”, VEW. Through donations, grants, and the proceeds from our thrift store, "The Bargain Box” we are able to finance our six philanthropic programs:

*Single Parent Scholarships—1991

*Warm Up Weld County—1993

*Clothing of Courage—1995

*File of Life—2000

*Clothing Children of Weld—2004

*Color Me Weld—2017

We are VEWing our philanthropic work and way of doing business with an eye toward the future. Our community is changing, and we must change with it.
