Description

Youth are experiencing unprecedented challenges, and life skill education is a research-backed solution for improving youth outcomes and making caring for them easier.

Help expand access to free life skill curriculums in Weld County schools and youth-serving organizations to promote mental, social, and behavioral health, resilience, safety, equality, and academic and life success in youth.

This flexible virtual or in-person outreach role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy connecting with people, advocating for youth education, and creating meaningful community impact.

Description:

As a Youth Life Skill Curriculum Ambassador, you will help schools and youth-serving organizations discover free, easy-to-use, online video life skill curriculums with interactive games to support positive youth outcomes in Weld County.

By helping equip organizations with PowerUp Co-Ed or PowerUp Girls for Life curriculums they can use in their own programs and services, you will help youth build confidence, healthy decision-making skills, resilience, and comprehensive life skills that support their well-being and success.

You will also support those who serve youth, because life skill education improves positive culture among students and between them and adults.

What You’ll Do:

  • Introduce Weld County schools and youth organizations (after-school programs, child and family advocacy, summer camps, homeschool, mentor, faith-based, etc) to our free life skill curriculums using a contact list and written and video introductions that we provide.
  • Reach out by email, phone, or in person to share curriculum information.
  • Advocate for life skill education as a research-backed solution to the unprecedented struggles faced by youth, and to the challenges of serving young people today.
  • Share how to follow up with Youth Empowerment Group with questions or to get started with curriculums.

Impact:

Your outreach will directly increase the number of youths gaining crucial life skills to navigate today’s challenges with confidence.

Time Commitment:

Flexible, approximately 2 to 3 hours per week for 3 months

Location:
