The Philanthropy Work-Study Student will support the Philanthropy Team by assisting with and execution of events, donor engagement, administrative tasks, and cross-team collaboration, data input and record maintenance. Contributes support to fundraising, stewardship & community outreach goals defined by the UWWC mission & strategic plan. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and communications and can be tailored to the applicant’s strengths for a personalized, educational, and enriching experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Support
Assist in projects, events, and investor stewardship activities including logistical needs, preparation, event attendance and follow-up tasks.
Outreach, stewardship, & event support including but not limited to logistics, material assembly/preparation, guest RSVP & communication maintenance
Help organize and support Corporate Employee Giving Presentations and campaigns.
Fundraising Campaign & Corporate Employee Campaign support including but not limited to material preparation/assembly, logistical tracking, delivery, collection, & reporting
Represent UWWC through all community interactions including campaign support, communication, UWWC events; potential opportunity to attend community events with Philanthropy staff
Other duties as assigned
Administrative Tasks
Organize and maintain physical and digital files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Campaign communication support including mailing, email, phone as developed by Philanthropy Team
Attend assigned meetings, applicable trainings by invitation, and weekly status meetings
Regular and consistent communication with Philanthropy supervisor & managers
Other duties as assigned
Collaboration and Communication
Occasional support for Data & Communication teams as assigned
Distribution of marketing materials & communications to promote organizational initiatives, fundraising & stewardship
Contribute to marketing and outreach strategies
Donor and Volunteer Engagement
Conduct research on potential funding sources, sponsorships, and individual donors.

United Way of Weld County General
Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Enthusiasm for nonprofit work and United Way of Weld County’s mission.
- Self-motivated; proven excellent performance standards and quality of work.
- Comfortable asking questions, offering feedback & openly practicing two-way communication to support team success, efficacy, efficiency, & communication for forward
- Excellent customer service, communication and phone skills.
- Experience, ability, & willingness/comfort initiating & participating in conversations & public communications to support team objectives as assigned
- Committed to successful & meaningful contributions as defined by UWWC
- Reliable transportation
POSITION INFORMATION
- Preferred availability: 15-25 hours per week.
- Flexible hours between 8:00am-5:00pm (M-F) and some evening and weekend hours for events.
- Work study – this position is only eligible for those in the AIMs work-study program
- Background check required
