Description

Learning Partners/Tutors are school-based, academic-focused mentors assigned to a program site for one semester or longer. They are assigned to work with youth at least one day a week; elementary and middle school assignments are typically after school from approximately 3-6 pm during the fall and spring semesters. Summer semester hours vary between 10 am and 3 pm.

Volunteers would be assigned to elementary school (Longmont site) cohorts for 2 hour increments between 4-6pm during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

Learning Partners/Tutors support a cohort of students under the direct supervision of the Program Director and their team with academic tutoring and SEL (social-emotional learning). volunteers would be matched with one to four 1st graders as Learning Partners/Academic Mentors. This would entail participating in circle time and daily programming activities, building meaningful relationships while eating snacks and playing games, and also guiding meaningful math and reading activities. All volunteers are expected to act as positive and stable role models for Dreamer Scholars.
