The purpose of this volunteer position is to help support United Way's Building Blocks event. This event welcomes early childhood leaders and directors to attend professional development course opportunities to allow them to receive and maintain childcare licensure and attain higher ratings within it.
6:00 AM to 12:00 PM volunteers will receive a free breakfast upon arrival and a free lunch before their exit.
12:00 PM to 6:00 PM volunteers are encouraged to arrive at 11:30 AM to receive a free lunch prior to their shift. Snacks will be provided.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Help attendees locate restrooms and class locations
- Hand out certificates acknowledging attendance to all attendees as they exit their sessions
- Provide support to class leaders
- Ensure all those entering sessions are registered
Qualifications
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Interested in the efforts of Reading Great by 8 and childcare providers
- Good problem solver
